Scan check in
If I have a large stack of books that are returned, I should be able to scan them all back in instead of going through which student returned it.

Omran AkashaSame issue here, it would be great to have them all checked in without the need to log in each student's account, time consuming and the prupose of technology is to save time!

MelissaI would LOVE this feature! I get overwhelmed trying to return the stacks of books from kids! This would be so much better!

KatieIt would be great if there was an easy way for teachers to check books back in for students! We have a drop off spot for students in a rush that don't have time to log in to check them back in. A lot of extra steps are required currently for an admin to check the books back in for the student.

LisaDon't know if this would help you or not, but if you go to your Dashboard, and click on Books Checked Out. You can click the checkbox next to each book that is returned and then click on Return Selected Books at the top of the page.

Julie WallerThis would GREATLY improve the experience of using booksource in the classroom! In my classroom we work in leadership teams, each team being responsible for making their part of the classroom run smoothly. I want my student librarians to be able to return and reshelve books!

Ashley M.I use my barcode scanner to help me check in books from the dashboard and then selecting "Overdue Books". It is frustrating because when I scan the book, a pop up comes up that asks me if I am sure I want to return the book. It really slows down the process. When I have 30 books sitting on my cart and I'm trying to wrap up returning them to my library quickly after school, it is so frustrating to deal with that pop up.

TaraThis would be especially helpful this coming school year. Assuming we are ever in school, books turned back in will possibly need "quarantined" for a few days. Then, I will have to check them all back in. I also don't think we will be able to have our traditional classroom jobs, so I won't be able to have a librarian who helps me with the books.

Mary Sue HI would like to be able to check out and return books for students in a quick manner by using my barcode scanner. Since the students are not able to touch the books until they check it out and then it has to sit for 72 hours before it can be checked in and reshelved because of Covid, I want to be able to scan them in quickly myself.

CarolynYes! I want to be able to scan books in. I don't want students to pretend to return books they haven't. I am very excited to use this platform this year with all the restrictions around classroom libraries.

TraciIt says this is done, I was trying to figure out how to do this today with all my books. Is there a tutorial or how do I access this feature?

Sean Patterson AdminHi Traci,
On the new Library Page (beta) in the upper right next to Add there is an icon for Return. Click that icon and you will be taken to a page that shows all of the books that are out. If you then scan a book into the input box, it will automatically return it and put it into a "Put Away" list on the right. You can then print this list to find out where to put each book.
